Silvan Safari

Sleekly designed small camp in the Sabi Sand combines modern design, every imaginable detail well thought through, and great sightings – especially leopard.

Pondoro Safari

Large & very comfortable suites with outside shower & jacuzzi, and the option of sleeping out in the treehouse.

Inzolo

It’s brand new and looks very elegantly designed, in a reserve which I haven’t been to yet, but has a special programme for rare Cape Mountain Reserve. Small enough for exclusive use.

Jaci’s Sabi House

A traditional family bush retreat in the Sabi Sand under thatch, but brightened by local craft and pops of colour. All the private villa trimmings – chef, own vehicle etc.

Tanda Tula Field

Mobile tented camps are rare in Southern Africa – a fun adventure, exclusive use (min 3 night stay) and you track animals on foot, in a private concession. Smalller and simpler tents than nearby Tanda Tula Safari Camp.

Tanda Tula Safari

Down to earth, family feeling at Don and Nina Scott’s charming camp. Tents are under thatch, and there’s a star bed for a sleepout. Check out their nearby Tanda Tula Field Camp for a real adventure.

Imbali

Traditional camp under thatch with plunge pools, overlooking a dry river bed, inside Kruger.

Clifftop

Stunner atop a cliff with views, contemporary décor and private plunge pools. However, I prefer supporting camps where the owners are committed to conservation – this camp is a trophy of South Africa’s notorious Gupta family.

Camp Ndlovu

Smart and perhaps somewhat formal, very private camp with private plunge pools. Sister property to The Residence in Johannesburg.

Makalali Tented

Very different to the original lodge which is 30 mins drive away; these are simple tents with decent bathrooms, modern unfussy interiors.
