The main East African international airports for arriving for your safari are Kilimanjaro and Nairobi. Charter flights can be booked into all safari areas. If you want to combine East & Southern Africa on the same trip, it is possible. If you’d like to add some time at the beach, Zanzibar and private Mnemba island are warm and tropical, or look at Pemba further south.

There’s increased interest in the jungle areas to the west of this region now – new camps are being developed as bases for gorilla trekking in Rwanda and Uganda, and Congo now has a Wilderness Safaris camp. As I travel to them, I’ll be able to give advice on those too.
